30 October, 2023

Yallingup, Western Australia

The Leisure Collective has won a swag of awards at the Surf & Boardsports Industry Association Awards for 2023. The brand group, based in Western Australia, took home 6 coveted top honours along with a handful of runner-up trophies. Among the wins included Product Innovation of the Year, Sunglass Brand of the Year (OTIS Eyewear), and Small to Medium Brand of the Year (Creatures of Leisure). The wins also meant that OTIS Eyewear has become the single most awarded ‘Sunglass Brand of the Year’ recipient, while Creatures of Leisure has now won Surf Accessory of the Year more than any other company.

“It’s part of our vision to be a ‘small giant’ in the industry, so to be recognised by our core peers like this is amazing validation that we’re on the right path” says Leisure Collective CEO & Director Nathan Omodei. “The entire team of crew is dedicated to creating quality products and providing incredible customer service. These wins are really a reflection of that hard work day-to-day. Sometimes when you go the extra mile it can feel like it’s not noticed. Well, it is noticed. A huge thanks to them and all of those who appreciate the effort.”

One of the big stand out achievers of the night was Creatures of Leisure new PROTO™1.4 surf traction. The tail pad raises the bar for what’s possible in this space, improving overall performance and reducing waste at the same time. The design alone was awarded Surf Accessory of the Year, Innovation of the Year and the SBIA 2023 Environmental Award. Another key mention includes Nathan Marsh, who took out the highly competitive Australian Account Manager of the Year.
